Health & Safety

Taurus Civils promotes a culture of safe production through planning, induction, method statements, daily control measures, supervision, hazard identification, task-specific risk management, and compliance with site safety standards.

Quality

Quality is built into the process from the start. Taurus applies control through proper scope review, material compliance, inspections, testing, workmanship monitoring, snag control, and structured handover.

Environment

Environmental responsibility is integrated into daily site operations through waste management, pollution prevention, drainage protection, dust suppression, resource awareness, and care for surrounding works and communities.

done safely.

Company Obligations

We Will Always:

Comply with Zimbabwe OHS legal requirements and all client/site safety rules.
Identify hazards, assess risks, and apply controls before work starts and whenever conditions change.
Provide safe systems of work, competent supervision, and fit-for-purpose plant, tools, and equipment.
Ensure training, inductions, and toolbox talks are conducted and recorded.
Provide and enforce the correct PPE for every task and site.
Report, investigate, and learn from incidents and near misses to prevent recurrence.
Promote consultation and communication — everyone has a right to speak up on safety.

Individual Responsibilities

Everyone Must:

Take reasonable care for your safety and others.
Follow method statements, permits, and supervisor instructions.
Wear PPE correctly and keep it in good condition.
Report hazards, unsafe acts/conditions, near-misses, and incidents immediately.
Keep work areas clean: good housekeeping prevents injuries.

Stop-Work Authority (Non-Negotiable)

Any employee or worker may STOP WORK if conditions are unsafe.

Work only resumes when hazards are controlled and the supervisor confirms it is safe.

Rule 01

No working at height without approved access and fall protection where required.

Rule 02

No lifting operations without a plan, competent personnel, and exclusion zones.

Rule 03

No excavation without locating services, shoring/battering where required, and safe access/egress.

Rule 04

No hot works without controls and permits where applicable.

Rule 05

No plant operation without authorization, pre-start checks, and safe pedestrian separation.

Rule 06

No alcohol or drugs at work (fitness for duty is mandatory).
